Provincial Library Services

Nova Scotia schools and community libraries offer access to all province community, university, and college libraries through their Novanet system. There is no charge for this service. You can use your Novanet library card to borrow books and resources online from your home.

Introduction to the Canadian Health Care System:

The Learning Institute also offers an Orientation to the Canadian Health Care System course. This eight-week part-time online program introduces participants to the Canadian healthcare system and concepts relevant to their practice in Nova Scotia. Topics covered include health promotion, population health, collaborative practice, cultural sensitivity, patient-centred care, trauma-informed care, palliative care, patient safety/harm reduction, and Indigenous health.

The IEN Orientation Program offered by ISANS also covers concepts related to the Canadian healthcare system and professional practice.
